Julio was only 12 years old when he was brought to the United States and forced to work nights and weekends for a cleaning service. His income was given directly to his uncle for the debt he claimed was owed him. 

Years later, his Immigration Law & Justice Michigan attorney determined Julio was eligible for a special T-visa available for survivors of child trafficking. Eventually, he was approved for T-1 nonimmigrant status, which allowed him to remain in the U.S. and apply for a green card (lawful permanent residence) in just three years.
