Please join us in honoring the life and work of ILJ Board Member Rev. Lupita Alonso-Redondo

When we first connected with Rev. Lupita in 2016, she was a volunteer interpreter and clinic coordinator at our former border site in El Centro, California. She was there from the beginning, a constant source of comfort, calm, and compassion for clients burdened with anxiety and fear. She was the very heart and center of a mission serving immigrant workers and their families in one of the largest agricultural regions in the country.

In 2021, she worked with us on our All of Us Campaign, pushing for a path to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants, many of whom were considered “essential workers” during the pandemic yet not eligible for federal relief.

When we called on her again to serve, she did not refuse. Rev. Lupita joined our national board in 2022 and was a passionate voice for this nation’s undervalued and underrepresented immigrant communities.

Rev. Lupita passed away on July 26, 2023. May she rest in grace and power.
