Valentina, a DACA recipient, hasn’t seen her sister Marianna for decades—not since Valentina left Mexico when she was only 14 years old. 

When Valentina learns that Marianna is ill with long COVID, she becomes desperate with a need to see and care for her older sister. But to leave the country, Valentina needs a travel document to guarantee her legal reentry upon her return to the United States. With a rigorous application process, and wait times that can take over a year, Valentina worries her sister’s health may grow worse…
